I had to chime in with my own list. Only Football and Baseball.
Football QB-Ronnie "Sunshine" Bass: He would be a perfect franchise QB since he is young, has a rocket for an arm, pinpoint accuracy, and a team player. His one negative is he can't pitch the ball on option plays, but the NFL doesn't usually do option plays.
RB- Megget, played by Nelly in The Longest Yard- I agree, he was super fast. Don't like Boobie since he was too much of a self-centered player and he was injury proned. I'll take my backup/ 3rd down RB to be...
FB- Tim Riggins, played by Taylor Kitsch in Friday Night Lights (TV)- He can play FB and RB. I will use him like Mike Alstott.
WR- Tweeder played by Scott Caan in Varsity Blues- Gonna have to agree on the WR's since their actually isn't that many good one's in movies. And Tweeder and Tidwell are at the top. If Clifford Franklin could just catch the damn ball I would of took him.
WR- Rod Tidwell, played by Cuba Gooding Jr. in Jerry Maguire-Agreed.
OL- Turley, played by The Great Khali in The Longest Yard- You have to take him. His size alone will overmatch the Defense. Who cares if he doesn't understand plays. Just tell him to kill!
OL- Jumbo, played by Ace Yonamine. Having a former sumo wrestler on your line is money. Gets caught holding sometimes, but that guy is hard to get by.
TE- Brian Murphy, played by David Denman in The Replacements- Agreed.
Defense:
LB- Bobby Boucher, played by Adam Sandler in The Waterboy- Dominating defensive prescence. This guy will get you at least 16 sacks/year. Great team player and you don't have to hire a waterboy.
LB- Alvin Mack, played by Duane Davis in The Program- Agree with the entire LB group. It is the best part about the whole team.
LB- Daniel Bateman, played by Jon Fareau in The Replacements- He's the man!
DE- Steve Lattimer, played by Andrew Bryniarski in The Program- This guy will rape the offense...
DE- Julius Campbell, played by Wood Harris in Remember the Titans- He is quality.
DB- Ray Smith, played by Michael Jace in The Replacements- A prisoner allowed out just to play football. He is a hard hitting vulture, who does his job and stays quiet (to not alert any officers watching). The team protects his identity, and LB Daniel Bateman, a cop, mentors him to stay out of trouble.
DB- Brian Chavez, played by Jay Hernandez in Friday Night Lights (movie)- kid was a ball hawk. Young to make a franchise DB.
K- Nygel “The Leg” Gruff, played by Rhys Ifans in The Replacements- One of the greatest characters in sports. This guy is funny, has a damn rocket taped to his leg, and he Wants to play! Seriously, you get inside the 50 yard line, you are guaranteed 3 points with him (as long as he isn't gambling on the game).
Honorable Mention: Luther 'Shark' Lavay, played by LT- This guy played through injuries and would never quit because he wanted the money (fine by me). Jackson Brothers (OL), played by Faizon Love and Michael Taliferro in The Replacements. These guys treated the offense like family and would protect the QB on and off the field.
BASEBALL: 1- Willie Mays Hays played by Wesley Snipes in Major League- speed, acrobatic catches and entertaining antics make Willie Mays Hays a solid lead-off hitter on my squad. (Agreed!)
2- Bennie Rodriguez, played by Mike Vitar in The Sandlot- I think he would be the perfect Number 2 hitter. Right behind Willie Mays, his on base percentage would be huge, and he is faster than a "Jet". Great character.
3- Roy Hobbs, played by Robert Redford, in The Natural. He had a magical bat and he was the definition of a MVP.
4- Unnamed Mets’ Slugger, played by Donald Gibb in Rookie of the Year- you have to have a grizzly, imposing figure batting clean-up, and a guy who will yell out “SEE YA!” after slamming a homer...Agreed! There is no one who comes close! By his second season on the team everytime he hits a monster homerun, the fans will all shout out, "SEE YA!" at the same time and it will make Sportcenter everytime!
5- Pedro Cerrano, played by Dennis Haysbert in Major League- spiritual leader of the clubhouse and a guy that can do damage to a fastball. Just make sure he lays off the change-ups and you’ll be in good shape.
6- Jake Taylor, played by Tom Berringer in Major League (1 and 2). A great veteran catcher who can manage the game and keep his teammates in check.
7- Jack Elliot, played by Tom Selleck in Mr. Baseball- Agreed.
8- Lou Collins, played by Timothy Busfield in Little Big League – Agreed, you have to have a veteran leader and he was a Twins player, so yea, good choice.
9- Steve Nebraska, played by Brendon Frasier in The Scout. This movie is terrible, but I can't pass up a pitcher who is young, has pitched a perfect game, and can crank home runs as well. He's a little crazy, but that's why I picked Jake Taylor as my catcher to keep him focused.
Closer: Wild Thing Ricky Vaughn, played by Charlie Sheen in Major League- As a fan of baseball, there is no better closer in movies. He's got a bad attitude, throws the heat, and the best introduction of a Closer in movie history! I've been waiting for a Closer in real life to do something remotely close.
Honorable mentions: Isuro Tanaka, played by Takaaki Ishibashi in Major League 2. Need a Gold Glove Outfielder and he would be fun to watch. The Angels, in Angels in the Outfield. Henry Rowengartner, played by Thomas Ian Nicholas. Really young and rocket arm. But too concerned about one false step and his arm goes back to being useless.
